Jerrelle Benimon from Towson has been selected for StatSheet's CAA Player of the Week for January 7th. Delaware's Jarvis Threatt has won StatSheet's CAA Freshman of the Week. Benimon put up respectable numbers with 12 rebounds per game, 18.5 points per game, and 4.5 assists per game. The Towson senior put these numbers up in wins versus North Carolina-Wilmington and Drexel.

Benimon led all scoring and rebounding for the Tigers with 19 points and 8 rebounds in a close 79-74 win over North Carolina-Wilmington. He followed that up with a team-leading 18 points and 16 rebounds in a narrow 69-66 win against Drexel.

This is one of four StatSheet CAA Player of the Week awards for Jerrelle Benimon. The runner-up this week is Joel Smith, a senior from Northeastern. Honorable mention goes to Jonathan Lee, a junior from Northeastern. The highest ranking player from North Carolina-Wilmington was Keith Rendleman who finished ninth.

StatSheet CAA Freshman of the Week: Delaware's Jarvis Threatt

Jarvis Threatt averaged 33 minutes starting both games for Delaware. He led all CAA freshmen in free throws (11.5 per game). In a 73-66 win over Rider, Threatt registered 12 points and 3 assists. Following that in an 84-72 win against Old Dominion, he dialed up 19 points and 5 assists.

This marks the first time this season that Jarvis Threatt has won the StatSheet CAA Freshman of the Week. The runner-up is R.J. Hunter from Georgia State. Jerome Hairston from Towson takes honorable mention. Cedrick Williams, who finished 5th, was the highest ranking freshman for North Carolina-Wilmington. North Carolina-Wilmington has yet to win StatSheet CAA Player of the Week.
